Ivie Itua
Dr. Ivie Itua is an FY2 doctor currently based at St Mary’s Hospital, London. She has a strong academic background, having earned her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Imperial College London and subsequently medical degree from University College London.
She gained experience in eye care as a Diabetes Eye Screener/Photographer at Homerton University Hospital, where she honed her skills in retinal imaging, patient interaction, and early detection of diabetic retinopathy. Later, as a research assistant for the Neurovision Ancillary Study at Imperial College London, she conducted imaging and supported research into retinal biomarkers. These roles reinforced her commitment to preventive eye care and the importance of early intervention in preserving vision.
Dr. Itua aims to build a career in ophthalmology that combines clinical excellence, research, and public health advocacy.
In her spare time she is a professional dancer, loves to travel and indulges in anything artistic.
